Stand with us: Young domestic workers speak out
As part of the Home Alone campaign for a new International Labour Organization Convention on domestic work, Anti-Slavery International and Children Unite have consulted with more than 150 current and former child domestic workers from Africa, Asia, Central and South America about their views on the proposed new Convention, as part of the
'Stand With Us' project. During the discussions the young people expressed their excitement and hope that the new standards could make a real difference to their lives.

hereNow the 'Stand With Us' project is taking child domestic workers to the International Labour Conference in Geneva in June 2010 so that they can lobby for a new ILO Convention on domestic work and speak out to protect young domestic workers from abuse and exploitation. The International Labour Conference is a crucial time for the Home Alone campaign as member states of the ILO will be meeting to discuss the convention for the very first time and will vote in favour or against its creation.
